Kinesiology Department Accepted into NSCA Educational Recognition Program

kinesiology TAMUCC CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Department of Kinesiology at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi has been accepted into the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Education Recognition Program (EPA). 

The NSCA’s EPA recognizes regional accredited academic institutions of higher education that offer degree programs with an emphasis in strength and conditioning.  Acceptance into the EPA indicates an academic institution’s educational program has met, and continues to meet, rigorous educational guidelines recommended by the NSCA and good for three years.  Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is one of only 10 universities in the nation with a graduate program in the EPA, and one of 57 at the undergraduate level.  However, the kinesiology department is also only one of eight nationally and internationally with both undergraduate and graduate recognized programs by the NSCA.

            The University’s Department of Kinesiology is based in Island Hall, a 140,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that houses cutting edge technology as it relates to the evaluation of strength & conditioning and sport performance. The award-winning faculty provides one of the most intensive and comprehensive learning experiences in the nation for graduate and undergraduate students interested in athletic performance enhancement.
