Freeze Mob Surprises Dr. Eliot Chenaux Who Will Retire May 31

May 01, 2012

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A "freeze mob" of well-wishers surprised Dr. Eliot Chenaux today (Tuesday, May 1) at noon in the University Center commons to honor the vice president for Student Affairs who will retire on May 31 after 36 years at the Island University.

Students, faculty, and staff from the College of Liberal Arts, the Department of Art, and the Department of Communication and Theatre held their positions for five minutes as a tribute to Chenaux, who came to the University in summer 1976 as an assistant professor of Spanish.

Following the freeze mob, participants gathered to shake hands with Chenaux and wish him farewell.
