Randy Davis Wins Outstanding Graduate Student Advocate Award

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Randy J. Davis, a doctoral candidate in Counselor Education and director of the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Counseling and Training Clinic, recently received an award for Outstanding Graduate Student Advocate through the Texas Counselors for Social Justice Division of the Texas Counseling Association.

Davis, who received the award for his community service and his influence on the counseling profession, served as career counselor at the University from 2009-2011 and helped students create job connections, improve training skills, and organize events.  He is also involved in the “Community Speak Out on Bullying” and recruited teachers, parents, counselors, and other professionals to speak on the impact of bullying. In addition, he promotes mental and personal wellness and career development issues from elementary through college levels.
