CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Dr. Riccardo Mozzachiodi, assistant professor of neuroscience at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, and his students were invited to present their study of memory using the marine snail Aplysia californica during the “Tenth East European Conference of the International Society for Invertebrate Neurobiology” held Sept. 6–10 in Moscow, Russia.

“This was an excellent opportunity to display to an international audience the groundbreaking research activity conducted by graduate and undergraduate students at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi,” Mozzachiodi said.

His lecture was titled “Consequences of aversive experience in Aplysia: plasticity beyond defensive neutral circuits.” Mozzachiodi also chaired a session at the conference.

The meeting was organized by the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Physiological Society (Neuroscience Chapter). The goal of the conference was to present comprehensive and up-to-date reviews of recent developments in the field by invited speakers from all over the world and to focus on the future directions of research.
