More than 200 Island University students receiving endowed scholarships met with donors who have made it financially possible for them to pursue a college degree at the annual Endowed Scholarship Banquet held Oct. 23, in the University Center, Lone Star Ballroom.

Each year, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi students receive about $700,000 in endowed scholarships. These endowments are a vital part of the University’s growth where 88 percent of students receive some type of financial aid through merit and need-based scholarships, grants, loans, and part-time campus employment. Scholarship support is critical in helping students to graduate. Because scholarship endowments are held in perpetuity and invested for the long term, these gifts provide one of the most secure sources of future revenue.
