CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Kinesiology students in the “Exercise Testing and Prescription” course presented research posters that addressed such diseases and ailments including diabetes, heart disease, and arthritis  on November 29 in Island Hall.

The students taught by Dr. Don Melrose, Associate Professor of Kinesiology, explained their research to other students and faculty members, and answered questions.

Other poster topics included conditions such as osteoporosis, anemia, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder as well as how exercise can be prescribed and used effectively to prevent disease, improve the quality of life, and reduce medication use. There were also projects that showed the proper exercise prescription for children, pregnant women, and the elderly.
