University Alumnus Selected as Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s April ‘Fellow of the Month’

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi alumnus Michael Bueno has been selected as the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s (CHCI) Fellow of the Month for April 2013.

Bueno graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science in December 2011 from the University. He was honored for his exemplary display of leadership and competitive professional skills.

CHCI is a Hispanic nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C., that strives to educate, empower, and connect young Hispanic leaders of tomorrow. CHCI offers paid fellowships to proficient Latinos ready and willing to gain hands-on experience in public policy on a national level. Fellows work in congressional offices and federal agencies.

The program exposes students to areas in higher education, secondary education, health, housing, law, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).

Upon completion of his fellowship, Bueno plans to obtain his master’s degree in international development and science policy.
