CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Seven days of events and programs open to the community that showcased the innovation, creativity, and ideas that Corpus Christi has to offer was held throughout the city from October 4-10.  

“Ideas Week Corpus Christi” featured a variety of activities, demonstrations, and events designed to recruit and retain young and talented people to the Corpus Christi area.

Participants attended in a number of free events including a clean-up and re-painting of the Water Gardens, a Bridge Walk across the Harbor Bridge, and a lunchtime information session to connect individuals with career and higher education services. In addition, representatives from the Hurricane Alley Roller Derby (HARD) offered an information session about the roller derby phenomenon at the Art Museum.

Special evening and weekend functions included a partnership with the Downtown Corpus Christi Art Walk, a Superhero Dinner honoring Chairman Todd Hunter and his heroic efforts, and a speed networking event designed to improve and grow business networks. Also, the Young Business Professionals teamed up with Leadership Corpus Christi to present “World Class City: Building Corpus Christi’s Global Impact through High Level Leadership.”

Ideas Week 2013 was organized by the Young Business Professionals of the Coastal Bend, an organization dedicated to creating young leaders to build a stronger community.
