Four-Year-Olds Listen to Spooky Stories, Halloween Safety Tips from KRIS 6 News Special Guests

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Jennifer Plummer, a Pre-service Teacher and Interdisciplinary Studies student at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, arranged for special guests from KRIS 6 News to visit a pre-kindergarten classroom at Schanen Estates Elementary School on October 15.

A very excited group of 4-year-olds in Belinda Ladabaum’s class met KRIS Chief Meteorologist Dale Nelson and Morning Anchor Mike Gillaspia. The students listened as Nelson and Gillaspia read spooky stories to get ready for Halloween. They also talked about being in the news industry. In addition, the kids got a lesson in Halloween safety and were reminded to wear a jacket to prepare for this week’s cool weather.

“They were the best behaved 4-year-olds I have ever seen,’” said Nelson. “We had a wonderful time out at Schanen Estates Elementary School.”

Plummer is also pursuing an EC-6 generalist educator certification. The video of the visit can be viewed at the KRIS website.
