CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – As part of the Oso Bay Biennial XVIII, the Department of Art at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will present the “Documentary Photography Exhibition: Home” from Thursday, March 20, through Saturday, April 12, in the Weil Gallery, located on the first floor of the Center for Arts.

The opening reception will be held on Thursday, March 20, from 5-7 p.m.

The exhibition will showcase approximately 40 printed and 40 projected photographs all selected by guest juror Molly Roberts, an award-winning photography editor, consultant, and photographer. With 20 years of experience in magazine and book publishing, Roberts has contributed to the content and aesthetic development of renowned publications such as The Washington Post Magazine, USA Weekend, and Smithsonian Magazine. Her special projects include books such as “Picture This” by Tipper Gore; “Gods, Gold, and Grandeur” by Paul Henry Walker; and “The Outdoor America” series by National Geographic Books.

Under the theme of “home,” this juried exhibition will showcase works highlighting conceptual and figurative reflections of domesticity, identity, and belonging, from local, national, and international perspectives. Roberts selected approximately 60 images from almost 500 submissions. Sara Lewkowicz’s photo was selected by the juror as the grand prize winner. Her photo and the other honorable mentions will be featured at the exhibition in March.
