CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi students, staff, and community volunteers joined Islander Green as stewards of the environment for a planting day held March 8. The event was held on a section of land at the end of Island Boulevard, off the first campus entrance.
The garden planting day promotes better health; volunteers who plant vegetation will be able to harvest and keep their plants. Volunteers brought friends, family, and anyone who was interested in getting their hands dirty. Members of Islander Green shared their favorite recipes and gardening tips.
Islander Green, an on-campus organization, was developed to promote sustainability by promoting environmental initiatives on campus. The Islander Green Team supports initiatives and activities proposed by the Environmental Advisory Council.
