Innovation Center’s New Businesses Hook Fish, Plan for Brides

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Two new business housed at the Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center are reaching out to brides and fishermen to ease their way to the altar and the sea, respectively.

  • The AVA Method helps bridal consultants from start to finish with a web-based planning tool that covers management, invoicing, vendor, employee and document management, calendars and reporting.
  • Fishermen’s Resource Group, a one-stop-shop for the commercial fishing industry, offers customers what they need to get fishing.

The companies are in the Innovation Center’s Business Incubation program, the second in a four-stage process that focuses on a client’s potential growth. Clients receive access to resources such as fund-raising opportunities, web development and a customized plan based on business model approaches and business networking plans.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi established the Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center in 2009 as part of the College of Business to encourage entrepreneurial economic of companies that, once established, are committed to remaining in the Coastal Bend. A key component of the Innovation Center is the incubation program that targets resources and other services to accelerate their growth and ensure long-term success. Learn more at
