CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Leticia Villarreal, Assistant Director of the Center for Academic Student Achievement (CASA), has recently been named President Elect for the Texas College Reading and Learning Association (TxCRLA).
As Assistant Director of CASA, Villarreal helps to provide students with academic support services through student-centered supplemental learning opportunities to help students achieve independence in learning. Her dedication to the success of A&M–Corpus Christi students has received attention outside of the Island University and has led to her new position with the TxCRLA.
The Texas College Reading and Learning Association is comprised of student-oriented professionals who are active in the fields of reading, learning assistance, developmental education, and mentoring at the college and adult levels. The most vital function of the TxCRLA is to provide a forum for the interchange of ideas, methods, and information to improve student learning and to facilitate the professional growth of its members.
