CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Delta Sigma Pi (ΔΣΠ), an International Professional Business Fraternity at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, was presented with the highest recognition a chapter can achieve, the Chapter of Excellence Award, on Saturday, Oct. 11.
The fraternity received the award at their Regional LEAD (Leadership Academies for Deltasigs) Conference in St. Louis, Missouri from representatives of the National Fraternity.
“This is the first time since our founding on campus, in 1981, that we have been able to achieve this status,” said Delta Sigma Pi President, Abigail Fay. “This status is something that less than five percent of chapters nationwide receive, so it is truly an honor for us to be able to achieve this.”
The qualifications for this status include hosting a certain number of professional, community service, social, and fundraising events; participating in national community service efforts; engaging and involving local and future alumni; efficiently running chapter operations; submitting paperwork to the national office in a timely manner, and attending regional and national LEAD conferences around the country.
