CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Counseling and Training Clinic at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and the Military Veteran Peer Network Corpus Christi Chapter is introducing a new series of Peer-to-Peer support groups every Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the Carlos F. Truan National Resource Center, Conference Room 1.

Peer to Peer support groups are designed to help veterans, active duty, guard, reserves, and their families deal with issues they have as a result of PTSD and other trauma. During the meetings, guests will be able to share stories and experiences with peers and trained graduate students from the University.

The Peer to Peer support team trains volunteers who are former Service Members and spouses to become facilitators who are there to help our service members and veterans and their families deal with the aftermath of trauma in their lives. They offer one-to-one meetings, provide referrals to professionals and programs if necessary, and assist with the understanding and filing a claim for all the benefits to which service men and women are entitled.

The meetings will be held every Tuesday and are free and open to the public. For more information please visit or call Dr. Yvonne Castillo at 361.825.2650.
