CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Department of Music at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi presented its 14th Annual Holiday Gala Concert held December 6 in the Performing Arts Center. The concert featured more than 90 students from the Department of Music.

“Every year, the students and faculty in the Music Department at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi look forward to the Holiday Gala,” said Dr. Matthew McClung, Associate Professor of Music. “This is one of the last fun activities of the semester that they can enjoy.”

Children and families were invited to pre-concert festivities in the lobby which included Christmas carols, a coloring station, and pictures with Frosty the Snowman. Performances included a variety of holiday favorites for the whole family, including familiar Christmas carols and new classics, in small and large ensembles.

The Holiday Gala is one of two music fundraisers for the Music Department’s student scholarships. The department will host its third annual Musical Miles 5K near downtown Corpus Christi on Saturday, March 14, 2015.
