Islander Alumni Association Honors 2014 Fall Graduates at Second Senior Party

December 16, 2014

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Islander Alumni Association and the Student Foundation at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi hosted its second Senior Party to honor the graduates on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Brewster Street Ice House in downtown Corpus Christi.

Approximately 150 graduating students enjoyed free food, prizes, a photo booth, a lip- syncing competition, and live entertainment from DJ Benvy.

“The Alumni Association was extremely welcoming with their efforts in hosting the graduate party at Brewster’s Street,” said Hannah Lockwood, a Biomedical Science major. “I got to meet several alumni from the College of Science and Engineering that gave great insight on different opportunities in my field.”

The Senior Party was started last spring by the Alumni Association to show new graduates that their Islander family is there for them as they enter a new phase and embark on new challenges in their life.

“We want our graduates to know that while they may be leaving the Island, there is still an Islander network there to support them,” said Lori Garza, Director of Engagement. “This event is our way of saying, ‘Congratulations and welcome to the Alumni Network.’”
