The College of Business at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi held a special Meet the Dean alumni reception on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Houston, Texas. This event is the first time the College of Business has organized and hosted an event for Houston alumni.
“We are excited to have such a supportive group of Houston alumni from the College of Business,” said Dr. John Gamble, Dean of the College of Business. “We look forward to their involvement as executive lecturers.”
About 30 Houston alumni enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and a night of networking during the special reception. There was also an opportunity to meet Gamble during the reception. Gamble actively fosters new partnerships with the local business community, nurtures existing relationships, and articulates a vision that generates investment and support from the community, private donors and alumni. Gamble, who came to the Island University in 2013, earned his Ph.D. in Management from the University of Alabama.
“It was great to reconnect the College with alumni who have moved away from the Coastal Bend,” he said. “This was our opportunity to share a full rundown of the strategic initiatives that will shape the direction of the College of Business over the next 3 to 5 years with fellow Islanders.”
The event was coordinated and hosted by Kimberly Becerra, Alumni Development Officer for the College of Business. Becerra earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Marketing in 2013, and her Master’s in Business Administration in 2014, both from from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Dr. Donald Deis, Professor of Accounting and recent recipient of the Regents Professor Award, also attended the reception.
