February 13, 2015

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Dr. Guang Zeng, Associate Professor of Quantitative Research Methodology in the Department of Educational Leadership, Curriculum, and Instruction at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, was invited by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), U.S. Department of Education, to serve on its scientific review panel held February 9-10 in Washington, D.C.

Zeng, along with other distinguished experts and researchers throughout the nation, reviewed grant applications submitted to IES for fiscal year 2015. Since receiving her invite last October, Zeng worked with the IES to complete a preliminary review of the grant applications.

“Most of the applications that we review are multi-year, multi-million dollar projects,” said Zeng.  “The reviews produced by the panel will help IES make its funding decisions regarding these applications.”

Zeng has been involved with various programs sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education since she began her doctoral work at the University of Pennsylvania. She has expertise in analyzing large-scale national databases published by the U.S. Department of Education and has published her research in journals with high-impact factors. Additionally, she has served as a reviewer for well-known journals in the field such as the American Statistician.
