University Professor Publishes Book to Help Solve Engineering Problems

Dr. Petru Aurelian Simionescu, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, has published with Chapman & Hall/CRC his first book titled, “Computer-Aided Graphing and Simulation Tools for AutoCAD Users.”

The 632 page book allows readers to expand the versatility of AutoCAD®  software by offering ready-to-use procedures and computer programs for solving problems pertaining to computer-aided design, data visualization, evolutionary computation, numerical methods, and more.

“This is a unique book in that it covers a variety of engineering problems, ranging from graph plotting and optimization to mechanical component analysis,” said reviewer Kalyanmoy Deb, Professor & Koenig Endowed Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Michigan State University. “The figures are great and the procedures are described with clearly explained computer codes.”

Developed for students, engineers, and scientists, the book provides illustrative examples, first-rate figures, and many original problem-solving approaches. The book also includes software tools for producing high-quality graphs and simulations.

Simionescu received his bachelor and doctorate degrees in Technical Sciences from the University Politehnica of Bucharest, and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University. Along with this book, Simionescu has other publications including 24 journal papers, 16 conference papers, and seven patents. For more information on Simionescu, click here.
