First San Antonio Fiesta Islander Alumni Mixer a Huge Success

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Islander Alumni Association teamed up with Fiesta San Antonio to hold a San Antonio Alumni Mixer on April 23 at La Paloma on the San Antonio River Walk. The event, which was timed with San Antonio’s Fiesta activities, was a huge success attracting approximately 80 individuals.

“We were excited to have such a great turnout and so many Islanders looking to get to involved in supporting the chapter, the University and each other,” said Lori Garza, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Director of Engagement.

The event was complete with free food, a cash bar, and great company. Joining with Fiesta San Antonio allowed the Islander Alumni Association to connect with a local event. This was the first time Fiesta San Antonio and the Islander Alumni Association joined forces.

Alumni and their guests had the opportunity to network at the event and win some great Islander gear for door prizes. In addition, Izzy coloring books for children were provided.

The purpose of this event was to connect Islander Alumni in the greater San Antonio area with the Association and the University, while making them aware and engaging them with the Greater San Antonio Alumni Chapter which will be coming in fall 2015.
