Media Professor’s Award-Winning Documentary Picked up For Distribution

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The North American distribution rights for the award-winning documentary film, “Reconvergence,” directed by Edward Tyndall, Assistant Professor of Media Production at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, were recently acquired by Gaiam Inc.

“Reconvergence” explores history, memory, consciousness and the changes of the world through technological advances. The film features the lives and views of four characters: a naturalist, a scientist, a historian, and a poet.

“Having it picked up for further distribution has been really exciting, and I’m thrilled the film will now have a chance to reach audiences for years to come,” said Tyndall.

Gaiam TV is an online streaming service for content ranging from independent films, nature and cultural documentaries, and health and fitness media. “Reconvergence” will now be made available to audiences in North America through a subscription with Gaiam TV, as well as third party platforms such as Netflix, Hulu, and iTunes. It will also be available for digital download and DVD.

“I feel really lucky to be at a place like Texas A&M-Corpus Christi that has given so much support to our Media Production Emphasis,” said Tyndall, who  is currently co-writing a one hour TV pilot, and is also in development on an animated short comedy called “Navidad.”

“It’s great to be somewhere that supports me as a filmmaker and provides me an opportunity to share that passion with students as they develop their own skills as visual storytellers,” he said.
