CORPUS CHRISTI,TEXAS – Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Alumni had a ball at Whataburger Field for ‘Alumni Night at the Hooks’ on Friday, June 19. The event, hosted by the Islander Alumni Association, encourages alumni to stay connected to their alma mater.

First pitch was thrown by Ray de los Santos, President of the National Islander Alumni Association.

“It’s great seeing our Islander alumni and their families having fun, connecting with each other, and supporting our local Corpus Christi Hooks,” said de los Santos. “There is a wave of momentum starting to build among our Islander alumni.”

Over the past three years, the Islander Alumni Association has been working hard to create a bigger footprint in the community, and continues to host events that bring visibility to the University.

“It’s a win-win because we get to support our local Hooks team, show Islander support for the Hooks and community, and bring our alumni together to engage them with the University,” said Jaime Nodarse, Assistant Vice President of Development at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

The Hooks were able to pull out a win, with a score of 2-1 against the Frisco RoughRiders.
