CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The College of Business (COB) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi held a special “Meet the Dean” alumni reception on August 12 at Havana Club in downtown Corpus Christi. The event provides Islander alumni with an opportunity to engage with Dr. John Gamble, Dean of the College of Business, while staying connected to the University, and networking with business professionals in the local community.
“The ongoing commitment and support of College of Business alumni for our program and students is impressive,” said Gamble. “Our local alumni have provided numerous scholarships to our students and routinely employ our new graduates. I look forward to additional engagement opportunities with our alumni that will enhance our advisory boards and expand our network of executive guest lecturers.”
Approximately 65 alumni enjoyed a night of networking, hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar. The event was coordinated by Kimberly Becerra, Director of Development for the College of Business. Becerra earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing in 2013, and a Master of Business Administration in 2014, both from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
“Our alumni are the College’s most important stakeholders,” said Becerra. “Events such as ‘Meet the Dean’ provide business alumni with the opportunity to hear about exciting new developments in the College, as well as our vision for the future.”
The COB intends to host yearly events for local business alumni, and in November, Gamble will travel to meet with Islander alumni who live in the city of San Antonio.
