Fall 2015 Semester in Full Swing at Island University

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Island University is bustling with activity as the fall 2015 semester kicks off. The first day of class was held on Wednesday, Aug. 26.

“So far I loved the professors that I’ve met,” said Bethany Corpus, a freshman Psychology major. “I’m excited to be living on campus and to meet new people.”

Besides their studies, students have a lot to look forward to, including a newly remodeled University Center equipped with a new dining area called The Cove. The Cove features national selections of Panda Express, Chick-fil-A, and Pizza Hut, along with Balanced Kitchen (home-style cooking), Crisp (salad bar), So Deli (sandwiches), and Grill Nation (grilled options).

“I’m really excited about the new Panda Express,” said Bobby Rodriguez, a senior Communication Studies major. “I’m also eager to promote the COMM club this year, and to excel in my graphic design class. I can’t wait for graduation.”

Enrollment at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi continues to grow. Official enrollment numbers are expected in mid-September.

“I’m excited to be at a bigger school,” said Jasmine Gomez, a junior Math major. “I’m used to seeing the same 20 people from my old town, but just today, I’ve seen about a thousand, so that’s pretty cool.”
