‘State of the University’ Spotlights Outstanding Programs and Research at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi President and CEO Flavius Killebrew will present the annual State of the University event at a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the Anchor Ballroom of the newly-renovated University Center. The event hash tag is #tamuccSOTU.

The State of the University will examine what the future holds for the Island University and revisit the Momentum 20/20 strategic plan for academic programs, construction and research established as we move toward the year 2020.

This year’s luncheon will be student focused with a student emcee and presentations from students. It will feature a multimedia presentation highlighting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s progress on its path to becoming an emerging research institution. Deans from each of the University’s five colleges will showcase vibrant examples of research, scholarship and creative activity in their respective disciplines.

A growing number of new academic programs will also be highlighted, as well as accolades and the many examples of how we help improve our community through numerous projects and partnerships.

Following the program, guests will have an opportunity to tour the campus.  This year’s State of the University Islander Sponsors include KRIS Communications, Corpus Christi Caller-Times, Fulton Coastcon General Contractors, The Blossom Shop, and M&G Chemicals.
