CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas –Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi students, faculty and Corpus Christi families celebrated the start of the new season at the Fall Family Fest held on Saturday, Sept. 26, on the University campus.
The carnival-themed event, sponsored by the Campus Activities Board (CAB), offered attendees the opportunity to engage in arts and crafts and other fun interactive activities such as face painting, a bounce house, papier-mache pumpkin decorating, a bean toss and hula hoop contests.
Corn dogs, cotton candy and snow cones were served.
Various campus organizations such as the Chemistry Club, Rec Sports, and Gamma Phi Beta participated in Fall Family Fest with booths that offered additional activities.
“This is an event we have held for at least the past 11 years,” said Vincent Verduzco, CAB Coordinator. “This year, we rebranded it and geared it towards families with elementary school children. It’s a great way to get out and spend some time together on the weekend.”
CAB sponsors this annual event for the campus and Corpus Christi community to build a more inclusive campus environment. The festival provides an opportunity for the Islander family and local community to engage and interact in a fun and exciting atmosphere while welcoming the new season.
