CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Island University has earned the top spot in Best College Reviews’ “50 Best Colleges by the Sea” list.
“We are honored to be at the top of this list,” said Dr. Flavius Killebrew, President and CEO of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. “It’s not only our beautiful island location here on the Texas coast, but our renowned marine research that propelled us to the top.”

“When a student is considering where to pursue high education, the environment is a huge factor,” the Reviews’ web site states. “College is much more than classes and degrees. It is where some of the most important years of life are spent, and the location is vital.”
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is the only school located on its own island. It is the only Texas school on this list.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is home to the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies, which is dedicated to advancing the long-term sustainable use and conservation of the Gulf. The University has strong programs in marine biology, environmental science and coastal and marine system science.
