CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – It was a packed house at Entrepreneur Night 2015, held at the Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center on Thursday, Oct. 29. More than 150 small business owners, startups and other entrepreneurial-minded individuals attended the free event which offered individuals the opportunity to network and learn about the business resources available in the Coastal Bend.

Jeana Lipstreu with New Wave Graphics has already taken advantage of some of the resources available since taking over the company three years ago.

“I’m here to network and to learn more about how to get my business out in the community,” she said.

Entrepreneur Night was co-hosted by the Innovation Center, which is part of the College of Business at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, the Del Mar College's Small Business Development Center and SCORE Corpus Christi.

This is the third such event, said David Fonseca, Incubation Manager of the Innovation Center.

“We know it’s a success because year after year we get more people involved,” he said.

Entrepreneur Night included nearly a dozen different resource tables, which all focused on business growth in the Coastal Bend. Tours of the Innovation Center were also given. The highlight of the night was a panel discussion featuring three local and well-established entrepreneurs: Fred Dotts with MDR Advertising; Pete Alaniz with Titan Support Systems; and Sebastian Giraldo with Giraldo Elite Futbol.

The panel shared their stories of success, along with lessons learned. They also gave insights into Corpus Christi's economic potential from their different points of view.
