Island University’s Continuing Education Department Offers High-Quality, Web-Based Personal and Professional Development

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – You are invited to enrich your life through learning – anytime and anywhere. The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Continuing Education and Professional Development department offers online non-credit, continuing education, certificate programs, and skill-oriented classes for the general public. Many classes cost only $99 and can be completed in six short weeks.   

“Online learning is a convenient and affordable way to start a new career, continue your workforce training, increase professional development, acquire industry certification, or simply enrich your life,” said Danell Reilly, Program Assistant in the Continuing Education and Professional Development department. “We are here to help.”

Classes can be instructor led, or self-paced tutorials. Continuing education units and continuing professional education is awarded upon request with successful completion of some courses. Start dates are once a month and continue through the year.

Todd Bermont took the instructor-led Twelve Steps to a Successful Job Search course.

"This course provided me with confidence and an action list,” said Bermont. “I am glad to share that I received three interview requests and a job offer. That's after only three months of searching on the job market.”

A special site for teacher professional development is also available. Courses in teacher professional development allow teachers to maintain certifications and licenses and complete their total required number of Continuing Professional Education hours.
