The Island University Welcomes Graphic Design Artists to Oso Bay XIX Creative Summit March 30-April 1, Registration with special early pricing now open

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Registration is underway for a three-day summit on the campus of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi focusing on various aspects of graphic design and hosting three leaders in the field.

The Department of Art at A&M University-Corpus Christi will present the Oso Bay Biennial XIX Creative Summit from Wednesday, March 30, through Friday, April 1, 2016. Registration is open until Monday, March 21, 2016.

The summit will feature the following influential keynote speakers:

  • Armin Vit, a graphic designer and writer living in Austin, Texas who is the co-founder of nderConsideration, Brand New and has co-authored various books for publishers.
  • Dana Tanamachi, a lettering artist and designer who has worked with clients such as Nike, the United States Postal Service, Penguin Books and Ralph Lauren
  • Aaron Draplin, a designer and founder of Draplin Design Co. specializing in all things print, identity, Web development and illustration

Participants will also have the opportunity to enter their work into a juried show, judged by James Victore, an American art director, designer and author. Categories for the competition include branding and collateral, publication design, advertising design, public service, interactive, motion, illustration, photography, printmaking and typography. The Best of Show winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize; and the Best of Show student winner will receive a $500 cash prize.  The call for entries into the juried show will be accepted from Friday, Nov.  27, 2015, through Friday, March 4, 2016.
