Alumni Night at the Hooks invites TAMU-CC Alumni Out for Fun and Islander Spirit

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi alumni took to the field for fun and a great game during the 3rd annual “Alumni Night at the Hooks” on July 15, at Whataburger Field. The event, hosted by the Islander Alumni Association, encourages alumni to stay connected and show support for their alma mater and the Corpus Christi Hooks baseball team.

“We had a great time at Whataburger Field watching the Corpus Christi Hooks and an even better time catching up with fellow Islanders before and during the game,” said Ed Cantu, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Alumni Association Board President.

Alumni, along with members of the community, were invited to visit the Islander information table where they posed for pictures and took home Islander gear to commemorate the event. In addition, all alumni who attended received special lapel pins that they can wear with pride.

“As we head into the fall, this is one of many engagement events the Alumni Association has planned,” stated Russell Wagner, Executive Director of the Islander Alumni Association and Director of Engagement at A&M-Corpus Christi. “As the year continues, we want to become much more involved in our Coastal Bend community.”

With more than 50 alumni in attendance, the Hooks put on a great game but were ultimately defeated by the Frisco RoughRiders.
