CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is delighted to announce a fall 2016 enrollment of 12,000 students. The number includes undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students. The increase in enrollment aligns with the University’s Momentum 20/20 objective of reaching 15,000 students by the year 2020.
The 12,000th student is Angelique Flores-Cano, who intends to earn a Master of Science in Educational Administration. She is a current teacher in the Corpus Christi Independent School District.
Momentum 20/20 is a strategic plan created in collaboration with faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members to boost the Island University to an Emerging Research University, thereby giving the university access to incentive funding from the Texas Legislature.
Official enrollment numbers for fall 2015 were 11,661.
