2025 Keynote Speaker

Dr. Stephen M. Langley, MD, FRCS (CTh), FETCS
Keynote Speaker | Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, Driscoll Children’s Hospital
Dr. Stephen Langley is an internationally recognized pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon and the Medical Director of the Heart Center at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. With over three decades of experience in congenital heart surgery, Dr. Langley has led surgical teams in both the United Kingdom and the United States, consistently achieving outstanding outcomes in the most complex pediatric heart procedures.
A graduate of The London Hospital Medical College, Dr. Langley completed advanced surgical training and fellowships at premier institutions including Great Ormond Street Hospital and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. He holds certifications from the Royal College of Surgeons and the European Board of Thoracic Surgery, and has served in senior clinical leadership roles throughout his distinguished career.
Since joining Driscoll Children’s Hospital, Dr. Langley has elevated the Heart Center to national prominence, achieving surgical survival rates above 98% and significantly reducing recovery times for young patients. His commitment to precision, teamwork, and innovation has redefined standards for excellence in pediatric cardiac care.
Dr. Langley will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2025 Health Science and Technology Research Symposium, co-sponsored by Driscoll Children’s Hospital and Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. His keynote address, “The Pursuit of Perfection,” will explore the intersection of surgical mastery, systems thinking, and human resilience in high-stakes clinical environments. Through stories from the operating room and reflections on decades of leadership, Dr. Langley will challenge attendees to embrace the relentless, purposeful pursuit of perfection—in research, in medicine, and beyond.
