Roe Cantu
Roe Cantu is an Administrative Coordinator for the Autonomy Research Institute (ARI), Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC). As the Administrative Coordinator, Roe provides general support to the Grants, Research and Administration Team by assisting with preparing research documents and reports, liaison to social media committee, coordinating community outreach and managing special projects.
Roe earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Professional and Technical Writing and has served in project coordinating and administrative roles on the TAMU-CC campus for over 10 years, having previously worked in the Office of the Dean of University Libraries, University College, and the College of Science and Engineering Academic Advising Center.
Prior to working on campus, Roe served on active duty in the United States Army while stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. She spent time in the 82nd Airborne Division as well as in a military information support unit (4th POG) and is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom with two tours in Afghanistan. She is a graduate of the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Basic Airborne Course, and the Primary Leadership Development Course. As a Non-Commissioned Officer, Roe filled multiple roles including project coordinating responsibilities as Product Development Detachment Team Leader while supporting CJSOTF-A overseas. Additional roles included inventory accountability and administrative responsibilities in headquarters as the Company Training and Readiness Coordinator.
