Seth Byas

Seth joined the Autonomy Research Institute (ARI) at Texas A&M Corpus Christi as a Pilot in July 2024. A native Texan who grew up in Central Texas, Seth began flying drones during junior high. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Unmanned Systems from Indiana State University and holds a Part 107 certification and an FCC Ham Radio license. While in college in Indiana, Seth gained experience with the Applied Aeronautics Albatross UAS and became proficient in Pix4D Mapping and QGroundControl software. He is particularly interested in Emergency Management and is eager to gain more experience using drones for mapping and aerial imaging.
