Grow Your Own
The Grow Your Own grant is an opportunity for teacher candidates pursuing certification in the areas listed below. Recruitment for the 2022 class concluded in spring 2021. We will post any future opportunities here.
- EC-6 core subjects (reading)
- EC-6 core subjects (bilingual)
- EC-6 core subjects (STEM)
- 4-8 English language arts and reading
- 4-8 mathematics
- 4-8 science
- 7-12 English language arts and reading
- 7-12 life science
- 7-12 mathematics
- 7-12 physical science
- EC-12 bilingual
- EC-12 Spanish
- EC-12 special education
Benefits include:
- $15,000 scholarship ($5,000 paid in August 2021, $5,000 paid in January 2022, and $5,000 paid in May 2022)
- Two-semester field experience Monday-Friday at West Oso ISD or Taft ISD
- Teaching position after graduation at West Oso ISD or Taft ISD
