Inclusive Community Sport

Kayaking adventure with TAMU-CC and Special Olympics Texas!

Special Olympics athletes and the community are invited to University Beach at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to participate in a kayaking adventure. The event is to promote social inclusion through shared recreational experiences. Athletes will learn and practice kayaking skills and have the opportunity to participate in kayak races, plus disc golf, cornhole, and other interactive educational activities.

Inclusive community kayaking is an interdisciplinary partnership planned and implemented by the SMGT 4308 Sport Facility & Event Management class, along with classes from Instructional Design & Educational Technology and READ programs, at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.


This project provides annual inclusive opportunities in the community.

Mission:
To provide a platform for athletes with diverse abilities to showcase their talents and determination in sport. Through supportive coaching and inclusive competitions, we aim to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and social integration, ultimately creating a more inclusive society where everyone can thrive.
