Music Walk is a free event in Downtown Corpus Christi that has become a “must-do” activity for residents and tourists alike. Artists, musicians, and all things creative converge throughout downtown on the first Friday of every month.

Celebrate 25 years with the Bailando International Dance Festival as it showcases diverse dance styles through evening concerts and master classes on the campus of TAMU-CC, featuring guest artists from Costa Rica, Mexico and throughout the U.S. Come and take a class or see a concert that offers a vibrant cultural experience for the South Texas community. Classes are free for TAMU-CC Students.

Science lab #1 supports the Atmospheric Science programs and research activities in the College of Science. This lab facilitates balloon instrumentation, weather observations, and 3D printing educations, in addition to the NASA supported research radar disdrometers. The lab also provides workspace for master and doctoral student, and faculty offices.

Tidal Hall supports many of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s fastest growing programs with hands-on research opportunities within the College of Science, such as biology, biomedical sciences and marine biology. The new addition further enhances the Island University’s recent achievement of “R2 Doctoral University – High Research Activity” classification by Carnegie Commission of Higher Education. Within the 111,000 square feet of panoramic glass windows, Tidal Hall houses nine instructional labs, 34 research labs (including 43 support rooms), dedicated workspace for master, and doctoral students, and faculty offices.

Location: Center for Sciences Lobby 

The  Center for Sciences supports both teaching and research laboratories in the chemical sciences at TAMU-CC. In particular, the organic chemistry teaching labs and organic synthesis research labs are crucial for education and scientific advancement. These labs advance knowledge through discovering new molecules and reactions, contributing to medical, pharmaceutical, material science, and environmental solutions. They provide hands-on learning, skill development, and safety training, solidifying theoretical knowledge and promoting critical thinking. Children under 5 yrs old not permitted.

Location: RFEB Lobby

The CITGO Observatory is poised atop the Robert Furgeson Engineering Building (RFEB).  It is used for astronomy courses and shared with the Atmospheric Science program as their Weather Lab classroom.  Astronomy students make use of several portable telescopes that are wheeled out onto the terrace to observe the night sky.  A 14-inch digital telescope is being installed into the dome for both classroom and professional use.  The tour will allow guests to use solar telescopes to view our brightest neighbor: the sun.

The Tidal Forensic Anthropology Services (TFAS) Laboratory is a working Forensic Lab accepting casework from local law enforcement and the Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office. Research in the TFAS also includes experiments to improve Forensic Anthropology methods. One current research project compares sharp force injuries made in pig cartilage to the knife blade edge to help ID murder weapons used on humans. Protective gloves will be provided.

Come tour and experience two research facilities and meet with faculty to learn about cutting edge research conducted at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. We will showcase the Bertec System which measures human locomotion using a treadmill with a virtual reality system and the Driving Simulator which evaluates takeover-request methods in a semi-autonomous vehicle. In addition, we will visit the Collaborative Robots and Agents Lab (CORAL) which is dedicated to the exploration of solutions by implementing mechatronic systems of Unmanned Aerial Systems or drones for the benefit of our community. Our research group is comprised of both undergraduate and graduate students from various science disciplines. We focus on developing interdisciplinary methods for addressing public health challenges such as antibiotic resistance, counterfeit drugs, and cancer therapy. Our laboratory hosts modern instrumentation for the optical and chemical imaging of medical products (e.g., wound dressings and pharmaceuticals) and biological matrices (e.g., cells and tissues) during their interactions with nanomaterials (anatomic and anticancer agents).

Location: University Beach

You are invited to bring a bisqued ceramic piece with you to TAMU-CC to participate in the Sunday beach firing. No larger than 10” in any direction, or just come watch! Firing prep will happen the night before in the Center for the Arts building, led by Leandra Urrutia. Some simple materials will be provided for making small aluminum saggars. The firing process will begin with beach-pit setup at 8 a.m. on the beach (weather permitting) and continue until all work is fired and cooled or 5 p.m., whichever happens first.
