Application
For both new and returning participants, click here to apply to the GSP@TAMU-CC for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 program year! Your completed application also serves as the application for one of the $3,000 yearly scholarships. For previous scholarship recipients, scholarship renewal is not guaranteed and you must reapply.
GULF 3101: Gulf of Mexico Studies I (1 credit hour) and GULF 3103: Gulf of Mexico Studies III (1 credit hour) will be offered in Fall 2024 on Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
In Spring 2025, the follow-on courses, GULF 3102: Gulf of Mexico Studies II (1 credit hour) and GULF 3304: Gulf of Mexico Studies IV (3 credit hours) will be offered.
The application linked above will ask for your contact details, demographics, and student information (including your A#, declared major, and number of credits completed).
It also includes the following short essay questions, limited to 250 words each:
- How did you learn about the Gulf Scholars Program?
- Tell us about yourself and the things of which you are most proud.
- What are your personal interests in and connections to the Gulf of Mexico region?
- How would you like to see the Gulf of Mexico region improved and how do you envision your role in these improvements?
- Why are you interested in the Gulf Scholars Program?
- How would a GSP Certificate benefit you in your intended career or personal enrichment goals?
- How would financial support help you participate in GSP classes and activities?
- Is there anything else that you would like to tell us?
Your answers will help us determine which applicants are the best fit, given the limited number of spaces and scholarships available. Again, your completed application also serves as the application for one of the $3,000 yearly scholarships.
We appreciate your interest and are happy to answer any questions at gulfscholars@tamucc.edu.
