Islander Retiree Volunteers

This event occurs annually in the Fall during housing move-in and is an opportunity to welcome new and returning students and their parents as well as show them your Islander Pride by helping them upload their belongings. 

Waves of Welcome tables are placed strategically around campus during the first few days of the Fall (and sometimes Spring) semesters. Individuals at this service point will be offering directions to buildings and classrooms and answering other questions to new students on campus.  

This new annual event is held at the beginning on the academic year to welcome students back to campus. Opportunities include assisting with setup and clean up, check-in tables, etc... 

Family Weekend welcomes the whole Islander family – from parents to siblings to extended family and chosen family – to visit campus and see TAMU-CC through the eyes of their student. A variety of activities are planned for this event!

• Islander Family Weekend

This event is celebrated University-wide and has been an Islander tradition for almost 15 years. The campus community comes together towards the end of November/beginning of December to offer crafts, food, an official lighting ceremony, and Santa!! The event runs from in the evening with activities concluding so participants can walk to the Lee Plaza for the lighting ceremony. 

Commencement is the University’s celebration of the culmination of all of a student’s hard work toward graduation. This event is held in May, August, and December with a variety of service opportunities including checking in graduates, helping ensure students line up properly, etc... This is an excellent opportunity to see those students you engaged with most embark on their life journey. 

This campus-wide event in February encourages friendly competition between campus departments while promoting school spirit. Assist with decorating for this contest and take down.  

Parking fees will be managed by the coordinator of the event for which you are volunteering.  Event coordinators are provided several options for managing visitor parking. If the event is on campus, you will most likely need to provide the color, make, model and license plate of your vehicle.
