Description

Identity proofing is the process of collecting, validating, and verifying a user’s identity information for the purposes of establishing credentials for accessing a system. Identity proofing is intended to mitigate threats to the registration of users and the establishment of their accounts. Applicability

The information resource owner, or designee, is responsible for ensuring that all requirements of this Control are satisfied.

Implementation

Identity evidence shall be an identification card containing the bearer’s photograph, issued by a federal or state government authority of the United States, to include members of the Texas A&M University System; a visa issued by the U.S. Department of State, or a foreign passport issued by a Visa Waiver Program participating country.
