If you are interested in asking big questions, exploring the world of ideas, getting new and exciting perspectives on the past, and learning about your cultural and linguistic heritage, then you’ve come to the right place. Humanities is a multi-disciplinary department that offers majors in History, Philosophy, and Spanish. Our students take classes on important

and fascinating topics like the meaning of life, the history of war, sexuality, religion, nature, and pop culture, Spanish literature and civilization, issues in medical ethics, and the philosophy of sex and love.In the process they acquire advanced skills in oral communication, research, translation, writing, and critical thinking, skills they apply to a diverse range of careers, from teaching and law to business and academe. 
Our award-winning faculty are among the most accomplished scholars and teachers at the university, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom. Our academic programs are robust, but they are also small enough to provide individual attention, small classes, and face-to-face instruction to our students.
