This news article discusses UT Chancellor Dr. Hans Mark's responses to concerns surrounding the state of South Texas higher education and and his visit to Corpus Christi. During his visit, where his main goal was to investigate higher education needs in the area, and state that collaboration should be the focus instead of becoming a 4-year at that time. He noted that an upper level university can prevent or slow the growth of a strong university and thought more analysis of successful upper level institutions was needed.
