Description
-
An article about how local South Texas institutions need to raise funds from private donations. It included statistics on how corporate support has aided four-year universities. It also discusses the beginning of a fund drive at CCSU to raise at least $5 million by 1992. The funds will aid in the transition from a two-year institution to a four-year institution. In the last five years, CCSU has received approximately $3,578,799. This does not include a $2 million bequest from Conrad Blucher and his wife Zula for the Conrad Blucher Institute for Surveying and Science that was recently dedicated. A nationwide study commissioned by Washington D.C. showed that corporate support slightly favors public colleges over private institutions.
