A man called Kamishibai-ya carried a few sets of pictures and a miniature stage strapped on the back of his bicycle. He beat on wooden clappers to let children know he was around and sold snacks and candies. Then start Kamishibai, a paper play storytelling, which pictures in the frame and slides the scenes in and out of the portable stage.
