Description
Hakata Ryu-mask

This mask is a Gyodo mask made in the 7th century and used in Buddhist ceremonies. The name of this mask is "Ashyra", a gradian deity for Buddha. This is originally from India. The mask is an object of art. I used this mask with flowers, wood, and colored sand on a shikiita. It is an Isho morimono made for a special occasion-this book! -Mrs. Chandler
