More Than 730 Graduates Receive Diplomas at Fall Commencement

CORPUS CHRISTI – More than 730 students representing Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s five colleges received their diplomas during fall 2012 commencement held December 15 at the American Bank Center arena.

Fred W. Heldenfels IV, Chairman of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, was the keynote speaker. Heldenfels is President and CEO of Heldenfels Enterprises, Inc., a manufacturer of precast/prestressed concrete structures for the highway, industrial, commercial and sports construction markets with plants in San Marcos and Corpus Christi.

Following Heldenfels’ address, students from the University’s Colleges of Business, Education, Liberal Arts, Nursing and Health Sciences, and Science and Engineering walked across the stage to receive their diplomas from University President Flavius Killebrew.

During the program, State Rep. Todd Hunter presented a resolution honoring Dr. Killebrew for his achievements as President and CEO of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Dr. Killebrew has been University President since January 2005.
