CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas—Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is ranked as one of the best colleges in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.  There are 2,474 public and private four-year institutions in America and, while nearly 1,800 of them are profiled by the magazine, only 10 to 15 percent make the rankings.  The Island University was ranked in six categories, including three graduate degree categories.

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CONHS) is ranked in both the “Best Nursing Programs,” and “Best Online Graduate Nursing Programs” categories. In the “Best Nursing Program” category, CONHS is ranked in the top 35% in the nation.   U.S. News and World Report rankings are based on the ability of programs to train in a full range of health professions.

The Online Graduate Nursing Program is also ranked highly because of the high-quality instructors at the CONHS.  In this category, COHNS scored in the top 25 for faculty and credentials training.

The University was also ranked in the “Fine Arts Graduate Program” category.  This ranking looked at each program’s advanced abilities in art specialty fields, such as graphic design, painting and drawing, or visual communications.  The Island University program made the short list along with schools like Yale University, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and Columbia University.

The University also ranked in the “Part-time MBA” category and in the “High School Counselor” category.
