Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Students Learn about Study Abroad Programs in Germany

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Students, faculty, and administrators learned about future study abroad opportunities in Europe during a campus visit on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from a representative of the University of Applied Sciences in Worms, Germany.

The College of Business at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi hosted Mr. Joachim Mayer, Director of the International Center for the University of Applied Sciences, Worms. The campus, centrally located in Germany and an hour from the French border, has a population of 3,200 students.

“We are excited to have the opportunity for our students to participate in a student exchange program with the University of Applied Sciences,” said Dr. John E. Gamble, the Dean of the College of Business. “Students who study in Germany will not only benefit from the cultural experience made possible by study abroad, but will also develop a deeper knowledge of international business experiences.”

This partnership, will give both graduate and undergraduate students the opportunity to take academically-challenging business courses in Germany. The University of Applied Sciences, Worms will not charge Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi students tuition and fees, which allows student choosing to study in Germany to plan only for travel and living expenses.

The University of Applied Sciences, Worms has study abroad partnerships with more than 120 universities worldwide. Currently 28 percent of students at the campus are international students representing 82 countries.

“I am excited and very much looking forward to many of your students coming to us,” said Mayer. “For students, this would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience where they can make lifelong friends.”
